TMB Foundation Scholarship Scheme for Arts and Science Colleges

Instructions for new applicant:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • To be eligible the undergraduate student must have enrolled in a degree course of the following disciplines.
  • Arts
  • Science
  • Commerce
  • The undergraduate student must be a domicile of Tamilnadu.
  • The undergraduate student must have secured admission under merit in Government, Government (Aided), Government recognized self financing colleges, and University departments with 75% marks and above in qualifying examination.
  • The annual income of the family should not more than Rs.3 lacs.
  • The applicant must be a first-generation graduate, meaning neither of their parents has completed a degree.
  • The applicant must maintain a minimum score of 75% in every semester throughout their course.
  • Should have a career plan while choosing the course
  • Should articulate it in writing in the form of “Statement of purpose”
  • Only one scholar for a family

Amount of Scholarship:

  • The selected students will receive up to 75% of the tuition fee and examination fees as per the college fee structure. (Subject to a maximum of Rs.25,000/- per year).
  • The scholarship amount would be paid in two stages, one in the month of January and another one in the month of April. (After verifying previous semester mark sheet and attendance etc).

Documents to be produced by students:

  • Copy of admission letter
  • Copy of Bonafide Certificate from the college
  • Copy of course fee structure
  • Copy of mark sheets of qualifying examination
  • Copy of ration card and income certificate issued by Tahsildar
  • Copy of ID proof and Address proof
  • Copy of Medical certificate (applicable for Physically challenged students)
  • In the case of Speech/Hearing/Vision impaired students a certificate issued by Medical officer, not below the rank of DMO is mandatory

Relaxation in Terms and Conditions:

  • Annual income criteria is not applicable for the wards of Martyred Armed Forces Personnel (Evidence showing the Martyrdom must be submitted)
  • Annual Income criteria are not applicab!e for the wards of Armed Force Personal.
  • Two seats in each discipline for differently abled students.
  • If applications are not received under the differently abled categories it will be utilized under the general category.
  • For students who do not have parental support, or come from a single parent household, the criteria of maximum score of 75% is may be relaxed.

How to Apply?

  • If an application wants to apply for scholarship, Registration/Sign-Up is required.
  • After successful Registration/Sign-Up, password will be sent to the registered mobile number
  • Meanwhile, an Activation Link will also be sent to the registered email ID for confirming the email ID.
  • The applicant has to click the activation link to activate his Login Account and can login the portal using the e-mail id and password that was already sent to his/her mobile number.
  • After successful Registration/Sign-Up, password will be sent to the registered email.
  • The Registration/Sign-Up is for login purpose only.

Instructions for existing Student:

  • Please login to the portal using your login details which you get from the initial registration.
  • To update your profile and secure the scholarship for the upcoming years, it's essential to change the "Studying Year" and update the "Educational Details" row.
  • Upload Bonafide Certificate,Course Fee Structure,Scholarship Declaration for the current studying year you mention in the form.
  • Ensure your academic details are current and accurately reflect your progress. This will streamline the verification process and enhance your eligibility for the scholarship.
